How to Choose A Comprehensive Sound Healing Therapy Certification Training Program

People always ask whether I will be a certified Sound Healer when I finish your training course. I tell them I will give them a certificate that states that I certify they have completed the Sound Healing Therapy Practitioner Training Program at my organization taught by me. In actuality, there is no legal certification in Sound Healing and there is no regulatory body for it. When people say they are certified it means they took a course and the organization, some of which sound very official, gives them a certificate of completion for their course. Some give you a membership to their organization. It is their own official-sounding name that they have given their organization and try to get people to pay a fee to join or add the membership as a bonus for you taking their class. If a class is accredited for massage therapy CEU’s it means the organization has paid the massage therapy board to accredit their course and has designed their course in a more limited scope to fit the massage therapy board’s requirements for continuing education credits. It usually will not be as comprehensive in nature since it is only geared toward massage therapists. When comparing training courses keep the following in mind:

Beware of Sound Healing Therapy programs that only teach you about Sound Healing instruments and bowls and have many levels. This is a way to make more money and capitalize on the increasing awareness of the benefits of sound baths. Their basic courses are not comprehensive and they want to keep you coming back for more. Also, chances are if you are taking a training class at a yoga studio, shop, or venue that is importing a teacher to teach you will not experience or learn about the other significant parts of Sound Healing Therapy. You may not learn how and why sound, including voice, actually heals and the recent in-depth research and science behind it. You will only learn the basics of bowls, gongs, some chimes, and a few other more popular sound healing instruments. You may not learn the full spectrum and possibilities of using sound therapy to help heal specific conditions. You also may not learn how to use it creatively to create world vision journeys by layering healing sounds from cultures and instruments from all over the world. The possibilities are endless. In addition, most sound healing programs only teach sound healing to be used as meditation. Ask them if they are teaching about Vibroacoustics, Psychoacoustic music, Cymatics, and specific frequencies. Ask if you will get to experience them. Vibroacoustic beds, Cymatics, and Psychoacoustic Music are used today in hospitals, hospices, addiction treatment centers, psychiatric treatment centers, offices, doctors’ offices, pain management clinics, birthing centers, to help children with learning disabilities, and much much more! This takes sound healing to a whole different level. Some have called it "Sound Healing on Steroids." Check out some of the amazing research into why and how sound heals. Why Sound Heals
