How to Choose A Comprehensive
Sound Healing Therapy Training

Let me be clear, people always ask whether I will be a certified Sound Healer when I finish your training course. I tell them I will give them a certificate that states they completed the training taught by me. In actuality, there is no legal certification in Sound Healing and there is no regulatory body for it. When people say they are certified it means they took a course and the organization, some of which sound very official, gives them a certificate of completion for their course and some give you a membership to their organization. It is their own official-sounding name that they have given their organization and try to get people to pay a fee to join or add the membership as a bonus for you taking their class. If a class is accredited for massage therapy CEU’s it means the organization has paid the massage therapy board to accredit their course and has designed their course in a more limited scope to fit the massage therapy board’s requirements for continuing education credits. It usually will not be as comprehensive in nature since it is only geared toward massage therapists. When comparing training courses keep the following in mind:
Beware of Sound Healing Therapy programs that only teach you about Sound Healing instruments and bowls and have many levels. This is a way to make more money and capitalize on the increasing awareness of the benefits of sound baths. Their basic courses are not comprehensive and they want to keep you coming back for more. Also, chances are if you are taking a training class at a yoga studio, shop, or venue that is importing a teacher to teach you will not experience or learn about the other significant parts of Sound Healing Therapy. You may not learn how and why sound, including voice, actually heals and the recent in-depth research and science behind it. You may not learn the full spectrum and possibilities of using sound therapy to help heal specific conditions and how to use it creatively to create beautiful vision journeys of sound. You will only learn the basics of bowls, gongs, and a few other more popular sound healing instruments. In addition, most sound healing programs only teach sound healing to be used as meditation. Ask them if they are teaching about Vibroacoustics, Psychoacoustic music, Cymatics, and specific frequencies. Ask if you will get to experience them. Vibroacoustic beds, Cymatics, and Psychoacoustic Music are used today in hospitals, hospices, addiction treatment centers, psychiatric treatment centers, offices, doctors’ offices, pain management clinics, birthing centers, to help children with learning disabilities, and much much more! Check out some of the amazing research into why and how sound heals. Why Sound Heals
The Sound Healing Therapy training taught at Sound Healing not only teaches you the science and practice of Sound Healing Therapy but goes beyond learning to play singing bowls and other instruments. At this training course, you will be deeply immersed in the science of healing with sound and how sound relates to everything in our universe, you will experience a session on the vibroacoustic sound bed, learn your home note/soul note, play a large variety of instruments, and be treated to a Sound Bath Vision Journey with quartz crystal singing bowls, Himalayan singing bowls, gongs, wind chimes, Koshi chimes, water chimes, specialized drums such as ocean, thunder, tongue, buffalo, metallophone, Freenotes, kyeezee, monochord, Reverie Harp, Chakapas, and many more, over 50 in all, world healing, instruments. There are so many more instruments that can be used for Sound Healing besides just bowls and so many creative ways to use them. Because the class is small there is plenty of time for all your questions and practice. Don’t settle for less! No instruments are required and all levels are welcome.

As a Reiki practitioner and a new sound therapist, I chose to work with Barbara because she's been a sound therapist for over 10 plus years and I could feel her positive intention the moment I chatted with her! I just took her Sound Therapist's training course and I'm really glad I chose her over the other therapists I saw online. She took me on a "journey" to the subconscious with an array of instruments that were similar to instruments that could be traced back to ancient ancestorial ceremonies! Barbara's passion and love for sound therapy shines bright and you'll feel it the moment you meet her. Do your research before picking a sound healer as many "new age" sound healers only play a few instruments like the Crystal & Tibetan bowls for an hour which limits the experience. Choose Barbara and you'll go on a healing magic carpet ride that leads you back to YOU<3 Thank you for everything Barbara!
The Sound Healing course was just the right mix of science and time with the instruments. The science behind this healing modality was well-researched and effectively lends credibility to this healing work. Instruction about the huge repository of instruments was helpful and then actually getting to use the instruments was perfect for getting a feel for what resonates with the healer and therefore what one may want to use and buy for healing sessions. Additional information about how to start a business including: structuring a sound healing session for one person and groups, marketing, in-take forms, networking, and collaboration rounded out the learning experience. I would highly recommend Barbara Spaudling’s course to anyone!

Barb's sound healing therapy course has been an incredible compliment to the many alternative healing modalities I have been exploring and practicing. The course offers an in-depth perspective on the power and science of sound as a tool for healing our mind, body, and soul. The bonus is spending a full practice day with Barb, with an opportunity to learn about and play her instruments; and fully experience her sound healing session (Crystal Bowls, Instruments and Vibroacoustic Bed). She has truly mastered her craft and performs her sound healing sessions with such ease and grace.
I experienced the best sleep ever after her session and felt a tremendous shift in my energy. Paired with my other practices, I have been experiencing an overall sense of steadiness/focus/ motivation/energy/ optimism that I haven't felt in a while... Absolutely worth the investment and the long drive.
I attended the Sound Therapy Practitioner Training and it was a lovely experience filled with lots of knowledge. Feeling more inspired and knowledgeable to create healing experiences.
Barbara has extensive knowledge about Sound Healing and VibroAcoustic Therapy. She has a soothing presence and really loves what she does. After experiencing an afternoon sound bath coupled with a session on the VibroAcoustic bed, I ended up sleeping for 11 hours! That has not happened in years. If you are reading this, you should check her out.

Barbara has a kind soul & gentle heart. In a healing world full of consumerism, her medicine is open to love without judgment. She wants the best for you and your journey. Other Sound Healing Certification courses I felt were in it for monetary reasons. Barbara does this as her life purpose, and I truly appreciate her work!

I did a lot of research on sound healing certification classes and decided to go with Sound Healing with Barbara.
I am so impressed with Barbara’s knowledge on sound healing and how thorough her class was. It went well beyond just learning crystal bowls, which I found a lot of other classes focused on, it focused on sound HEALING. There is a big difference.
Do not hesitate to take this class, you will not be disappointed.
